drivers run away after accident

The accident happened on the corner of Krogh and Kerk Street.

Two motorists, one driving a Chevrolet and the other a Golf, crashed into each other and fled the scene of the accident at about 10.45pm on Saturday, 10 May.

No injuries were reported.

Mr Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, said the driver of the blue Golf had the right of way.

The driver of the Chevrolet ran the stop street and crashed into the Golf.

The Chevrolet ended up smashing through the outside wall of a resident’s house.

According to people on the scene, both motorists ran away shortly after the incident occurred.

Mr Nhlabathi said they got hold of the motorists the next morning after which they gave their statements.

No case however was opened.
