Mig wins buffalo hunt

Raffle tickets were sold across South Africa

Laerskool Amsterdam’s Parent Teacher Association (PTA) took the initiative last year to embark on a major fund-raising project.

Raffle tickets were sold across South Africa and the prizes were drawn last Friday evening at an event with Dewald Dippennaar as guest singer.

Mig Wolfaardt was the winner of the main prize, a seven-day buffalo hunt (non-trophy) in the world-renowned Zambezi Valley in Zimbabwe, donated by Charl Moodie.

Other winners were Harry Engelbrecht who received a R500 gift voucher from JJ Wapens, Anita Greyling with a handmade knife from Targa, Ewert Putter with a R7 000 voucher from The Natal Gun Company, Niel du Toit with a chainsaw sponsored by Chainsaw and Power Products and Colette Grobler who went home with a hunting package in Limpopo

The school raised over R130 000, a major accomplishment for a small school.
