Khawuleza Fight Fatigue aducates residents

The Khawuleza Fight Fatigue Awereness Campaign was held at the eMbalenhle South Hall and Sjongile Damase Hall empowered residents on Thursday,17 July.

eMBALENHLE – Anglo American, in partnership with the Govan Mbeki Municipality, held the Khawuleza Fight Fatigue Awareness Campaign on Thursday, 17 July.

It began at the eMbalenhle South Hall and then moved to Sjongile Damase Hall.

It was intended to educate the community about various issues, such as drugs and substance abuse and dangers of dating older persons, women abuse and HIV and Aids.

The Khawuleza Fight Fatigue actors entertained the attendees with comedy and educational drama which teach about the dangers of substance abuse, myths about sangomas healing HIV and Aids, the danger of sugar daddies and sugar mamas and the abuse of women.

Residents were also encouraged to visit local clinics for HIV and Aids tests.

Various games were played, such as pick the box where residents won various prizes such as sneakers, fruit and vegetable hampers, blankets and various vouchers.

Mr Zakhele Masilela, HIV and Aids coordinator for the Govan Mbeki Municipality, thanked the residents who attended and Anglo American for partnering with the municipality in reaching out to the community.
