Secunda Sector 3 locals meet CPF

While interacting with residents, they were told about Curamus, which is the police's victim support centre. Any persons of any age can use this service which provides trauma counselling for rape victims, suicide, depression, domestic violence and more. 

SECUNDA – The Community Policing Forum (CPF) and its sector commanders, as well as the police’s Crime Prevention unit met at the Five Star Superspar on Tuesday, 18 February.

The aim of the patrol was to minimise crime in the area and to interact with residents of Sector 3. The parol began with the removal of people who were drinking in public. The patrol convoy proceeded towards residential areas.

Some residents, who came out of their homes, stood on the side of the pavement and welcomed everyone with biscuits and something to drink.

While interacting with residents, they were told about Curamus, which is the police’s victim support centre. Any persons of any age can use this service which provides trauma counselling for rape victims, suicide, depression, domestic violence and more.

This is a 24-hour service and is run by volunteers who can assist with any type of trauma or even funeral procedures.

Street patrolled were Suikerbos, Waterberg, Soutpansberg, Kongo, Sondagrivier, Hendrik de Waal, Tambotie, Piketberg, Bergrivier, Tugela, Suurberg and Langeberg Street.

The residents interact with CPF members, sector commanders, members from Secunda Police’s Crime Prevention and StratconRisk.
