Community learns about gender-based violence
Stakeholders take a stand against gender based violence
eMBALENHLE – Various stakeholders including Thuthuzela Care Centre, the police, and traditional and religious leaders held an awareness campaign on abuse against women and children on Friday, 6 December at Extension 18.
The awareness compaign forms part of the 16 Days of Activism for No Violence against Women and Children which began on 25 November and will end on 10 December.
During the march, pamphlets were distributed to the community and a meeting was held at Restoration of Life Christian Church.
The attendees were informed about gender-based violence, violence, sexual offences and the stakeholders in general to create awareness and empower the community.
The organisers thanked everyone who took part in the event.
