Spectators enjoy rally championship outside Trichardt

The rally was held on Mr Kosie van der Merwe's farm outside Trichardt last weekend.

TRICHARDT – Cobus Groenewald and his navigator, Pierre Jordaan, won round 5 of the Womza National Rally Championship in their BMW 130i in a time of 1:1,47.

Natie Booysen and his navigator, Johan Smit, finished second with a time of 1:5,43 in their Ford Escourt, while Dean Redenlinghuys and his navigator, Wade Harris finished third with a time of 1:5,43 in their Volkswagen Polo and Attie Cloete and his navigator, Isabel Raaths, fourth in 1:8,23 with their Toyota Tazz.

Andrea Raaths and her navigator, Mari Duccasse finished fifth in 1:15,35 in their Volkswagen Golf 3 and Ronnie Botes and his navigator, Etienne Venter, finished sixth in 1:17,4 in their Can Am Maverick.

Sybrand van den Berg and his navigator, Chantelle Burrows, were the seventh team to cross the finish line in 1:18,10 in their Toyota Run X and Reinhardt Jansen van Rensburg and his navigator, Gert Vos, finished eighth in 1:18,12 in their Datsun GX.

Johan de Bruin and his navigator, Susan de Bruin finished ninth in 1:20,13 in their Nissan 350z and Rinus Plomp and his navigator, Johan Kok finished 10th in 1:20,26 in their Subaru Impreza.
