Strike will continue tomorrow affecting Bethal and eMzinoni

As the strike will progress, those participating might move into town towards the court.

BETHAL – Because court will be in session again tomorrow, the protest that basically shut down town on Monday, 19 August, will continue.

It is suspected that it will be more violent.

“While driving on the Standerton (R38) road from Bethal, we saw stacks of tyres and stones all ready stacked on the side of the road,” said a resident.

Learners said that they will not be attending school, those in town as well as eMzinoni, because they fear for their lives.

As the strike will progress, those participating might move into town towards the court.

Schools in town status:
HM Swart: CLOSED
Wonderland: CLOSED
Marietjie van Niekerk: CLOSED
Hoogenhout: CLOSED
Jim van Tonder: Open
Bethal Primary Private: CLOSED

The schools mentioned will send confirmation tomorrow morning before 7am to confirm.
