Three vehicles involved in accident between Charl Cilliers and Standerton

A taxi's wheel burst as it swerved out to avoid the accident.

CHARL CILLIERS – An aged woman sustained moderate injuries when the vehicle in which she was a passenger and an oncoming vehicle collided on the R546 just outside Charl Cilliers towards Standerton tonight, 6 April.

She was on the back seat of a Hyundai i20.

The driver and passenger both sustained light injuries.

Their vehicle and an oncoming VW Polo collided semi head-on.

A taxi’s wheel burst as it swerved out to avoid the accident.

The four people in the taxi were not injured.

The occupants of the Polo apparently fled the accident scene.

ER24 and the provincial EMS transported the injured to hospital.

The firebrigades of Govan Mbeki Municipality and Lekwa Municipality, as well as the Charl Cilliers Police were on the scene.

Jelani Security also helped and supplied lighting.

All Star Towing secured the scene and helped with the clearing of the road.
