Trichardt farm is host to Gauteng Xcross Country Club (GXCC) championship on 13 April

Besides the national racers competing, there are also open classes for anyone who wants to take part in the racing fun that specific day

TRICHARDT – The third leg of the Gauteng Xcross Country Club (GXCC) championship will be held on a farm in the Trichardt district on 13 April.

Farm Zeekoeigat of Mr Jaco and Ms Ina Pretorius is being prepared for this prestigious event.

This event promises great spectator value for the whole family.

Besides the national racers competing, there are also open classes for anyone who wants to take part in the racing fun that specific day.

Off-road motorcycles and quadbike riders are welcome to enter on the day of the race. There is also an option to register online on GXCC’s website.

The GXCC series comprises of eight rounds that include both the junior and senior age categories. This is the first time that such an event is being held in this area.

The series is hosted by multiple national champion and three time consecutive Roof of Africa winner, Louwrens Mahoney.

He said GXCC is dedicated to developing the Off-Road/Xcross Country industry by offering these adrenaline filled experiences to all motorcycle and quadbike riders in a safe, fun and competitive environment.

GXCC is affiliated to MSA, Motorsport South Africa, and hosts both a Club and the Northern Regional championships.

“By ensuring we host a series that all levels of riders in the Northern regional part of South Africa can complete (about 200km) in a family orientated environment, we make sure that any two and four wheel enthusiast can come and enjoy a day out.

“The GXCC aims at providing safe, fast but tight and flowing routes at each leg of the series and still using each venue’s unique terrain,” said Mahoney.

The event on 13 April begins at 8.30am on the farm Zeekoeigat that is accessible just past the Trichardt toll plaza on the N17 to Bethal.

Visitors can bring their own chairs and Gazebo. There will be plenty of food and drinks on sale. There will also be several stalls and kids entertainment.
