Secunda man slapped with 15 year sentence for stealing R4-million from his employer

Eksteen will effectively be behind bars for nine years, as seven years of the 15-year sentence are suspended for five years.

EVANDER – Wynand Eksteen (38) from Secunda was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment last week for defrauding his employer out of R4-million.

Eksteen was sentenced in the Evander Regional Court on Tuesday, 5 March.

He was found guilty of depositing the company’s money into his own various accounts.

He covered up the theft by using the names of other employees as if he was paying out their salaries.

This happened over a period of time and Eksteen was arrested in July last year.

Eksteen will effectively be behind bars for nine years, as seven years of the 15-year sentence are suspended for five years.
