Murder cases on the increase in eMbalenhle

Police warns that most serious crimes in the area emanates from taverns

eMBALENHLE – Police are concerned over the increase of murder cases at liquor outlets in the area.

This came after several cases were recently opened.

A 34-year-old man died after being stabbed in a quarrel in a tavern in Extension 18.

He was taken to Evander Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

In another incident, a 25-year-old man was stabbed with a broken bottle.

It is alleged that he managed to walk from the tavern to his house.

He was later found dead in his bed.

No arrests have yet been made.

Police urged tavern owners to enhance security measures, and locals to drink responsibly.
