BETHAL – A security officer was shot in the neck in a cash in transit heist in front of the OK Grocer in Vuyisile Mini Street in Bethal this afternoon.
According to Mr Michael Hodgson, Bethal CPF member and paramedic by trade, he arrived in Bethal from work and saw people running around in the streets.
He was told a security guard from G Force Security had been shot.
“I tended to the victim. He was stable when the ambulance services took him to hospital, but he lost a lot of blood,” said Mr Hodgson.
“The whole town came to a standstill and the road is still blocked off.”
According to eyewitnesses, three men fled in a silver Golf with the registration number: FKD 102 MP.
