[BREAKING NEWS] Two arrested after shootout between HABPS security and suspects in Kinross

Nobody got hurt in shootout between HABPS armed response officers and suspects in stolen vehicle.

Thanks to the quick response of HABPS armed response officers, Leandra Police arrested two suspects with fraudulent bank cards this morning.

According to Mr Soloman Ncongwama, manager at HABPS, his team got a call out for armed response to Kinross.

They were asked to be on the lookout for a Ford Figo.

“The vehicle was at the ATM in Kinross and there were four suspects inside,” said Mr Ncongwama.

When the suspects saw the HABPS vehicle, they began shooting at the armed response officers and fled in the Figo.

The armed response officers followed them to Evander, but the suspects made a U-turn when they noticed they were followed and drove towards Leandra.

The security company called Leandra Police for backup and chased the suspects to Leandra.

The armed response officers fired shots at the vehicle and the suspects stopped the car.

The armed response officers instructed them to drive to Leandra Police Station to which they abided.

At the police station the armed response officers arrested two suspects, but two got away.

Nobody was injured in the shootouts and the two suspects will appear in court on Monday.

The police found bank cards and cell phones in the suspects’ possession and learnt that the vehicle was stolen in Honeydew in January.

W/O Khuselwa Matrose, spokesman of Leandra Police Station, confirmed the incident.
