13 ‘Magic’ foods that are said to burn belly fat fast

Who doesn’t need to shed a bit of weight after the festive season?

NOBODY likes a tubby tummy and while we cannot guarantee these remedies actually work, including them in your diet will probably improve your health anyway!

According to Bright Side, these are the foods which will help melt that ‘jelly belly’.

13. Extra virgin olive oil

Olive oil is a healthy fat that helps eliminate ‘bad’ (saturated) fats while lowering stress hormone (cortisol) levels that influence weight gain. Because olive oil loses most of its health benefits when heated, it’s better to have a spoon of olive oil on an empty stomach. But if you really don’t like the idea of doing that, add it to a salad or soup just before serving.

12. Apples

Apples are an ideal food to burn abdominal fat because they are rich in vitamins and antioxidants. For faster results, eat at least three apples a day and you can double the effect if you eat an apple or unsweetened cereal with apple slices on an empty stomach.

11. Fish

Fish high in Omega-3 fatty acids can eliminate excess fat and prevent fat accumulation. Include fish such as salmon, mackerel, herring, tuna, sardines, anchovies, sea trout, mullet, eel, sea bass, hake, haddock and kingklip in your diet.

10. Bananas

Bananas are a great source of potassium, calcium, magnesium, and vitamins and just one banana a day can actually help you with your weight loss battle. And – you can have a banana whenever you feel peckish between meals.

9. Citrus fruits

Citrus fruits are rich in vitamin C and eating them lowers insulin levels and assists the body with digesting fats faster. Include oranges, grapefruits, and lemon water between meals.

8. Seafood

Fresh, high-quality seafood that contain monounsaturated fats can help to avoid the accumulation of extra fat. Plus, seafood is a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.

7. Melons and watermelons

Melons are rich in water and potassium lowers the chance of bloating or swelling.

6. Walnuts and almonds

Both of these have a high concentration of omega-3 and protein. And almonds help control blood sugar and activate the metabolism. Add some nuts to salads or to snack on (moderately) during the day.

5. Avocados

Most people love avocados because they are delicious, but did you know that they contain oleic acid which magically reduces the feeling of hunger. Plus, it contains fibre and monounsaturated fats which is vital to prevent weight gain.

4. Quinoa

Quinoa is a high-fibre, low-calorie food that controls appetite and accelerates fat burning at the same time. It contains proteins, antioxidants, and other nutrients such as iron, zinc, selenium, and vitamin E.

3. Tomatoes

Tomatoes reduce the amount of lipids (fat and cholesterol) in the bloodstream.

2. Berries

Strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and blueberries give a feeling of fullness, and also contain flavonoids that reduce fat and sugar.

1. Green coffee

Green coffee beans contain chlorogenic acid which reduces the absorption of sugar in the gastrointestinal tract and burns accumulated fats. And this acid stimulates the metabolic activity of your liver, which literally makes it burn more fat. Enjoy a cup of green coffee in the morning on an empty stomach and you’ll soon notice positive changes! The best news is that green coffee is available on the South Coast.
