Charl Cilliers constable who was charged with armed robbery, case postponed

The suspects were arrested on 24 June and were charged with armed robbery after they allegedly held up Super Sure Bakery personnel.

The case of Const Smangaliso Phungwayo and three co-accused has been postponed to 3 October pending further investigation.

It will be heard in the Regional Court in Standerton.

The suspects were arrested on 24 June and were charged with armed robbery after they allegedly held up Super Sure Bakery personnel.

They were granted bail of R3 000 each at the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 18 July.

The suspects first appeared in court on 26 June and the case was postponed to 17 August.

Const Phungwayo is stationed at the Charl Cilliers Police Station and an internal investigation is underway.
