Secunda family devastated after house fire in Slangkop Street

Neighbours who were outside at the time, saw smoke billowing from the garage and store room and called the fire department just before 4pm.

The fire department was quick to respond and by the time the Ridge Times arrived on the scene, the fire was extinguished.

Neighbours also assisted by keeping all doors and windows closed and using hosepipes to try and cool down the roof of the building that was on fire.

Langamed Ambulance Services was on the scene and assessed the homeowner and her daughter, but no one was injured.
