Nomfundo and Benton wear the crowns

About 40 people participated in the Miss Valentine Beauty Pageant.

eMZINONI – After participating in the Mr South Africa Pageant in 2014, Const Thomas Mogadime has been introducing modelling to eMzinoni and Bethal since 2015 to help get kids and youths off the street.

He recently hosted the Mr and Miss Valentine 2017 Pageant.

Altogether 40 young people competed for the titles in the two categories Mr/Miss Valentine and Jnr Mr/Little Miss Valentine.

The purpose was to celebrate the month of love in style by crowning the king and queen of Valentine’s Month, to help the kids showcase their talent, to help them build their self-confidence and to help them stay away from things such as drugs or crime.

“As a police officer, I realise most of the youth get into drugs or crime, because they have nothing to do and after I participated in the Mr South Africa Pageant in 2014, I introduced modelling competitions at schools and eventually most of the youths are taking modelling serious.

“This boosts their self-confidence,” said Const Mogadime.

Artists who performed at the Mr and Miss Valentine Pageant, include Vibe Mkhaliphi, Spice Tshabalala, Straight Edge Saga, Bobzin, Conquenathi, BR and Gifted Reason, the programme director.

The results of the pageant are:

Nomfundo Mthethwa was crowned Miss Valentine 2017, Sthabile Chipeta is the first princess, Lungile Nkabinde is the second princess and Vuyisile Mnisi is Miss Personality.
