Father and his two sons killed in horrific car crash on N17 highway

The funeral service for the father and his sons will be on Sunday, 12 March at eMbalenhle Seveth Adventist from 7am.

EVANDER – A father and his two sons died in an accident on the N17 highway on Monday, 27 February at about 10pm.

Ms Patricia Simelane said her husband, Mr Daniel Simelane, and their two sons, Siphuxolo and Lwazi, had gone to Pretoria for Mr Simelane’s check up at a hospital.

She became worried when they did not return home on Monday.

Ms Simelane received the shock of her life when police officers visited her home to inform her that Lwazi had died in the accident.

She said police did not say anything about her husband or Siphuxolo.

“I went to the hospital in Springs and found my son in the mortuary.

“I will never forget it, it is too painful to speak about it,” said Ms Simelane.

She enquired about her husband and Siphuxolo and she was told to call the ambulance service that attended the scene.

Ms Simelane said the ambulance service’s personnel advised her to look for them at the government mortuary.

“I went there and they took me to identify their bodies.

“There are no words that can explain what and how I am feeling right now.

“I lost all my loved ones on one day.

“The Simelane and Noncanda family will deeply miss them.

“I will forever love and treasure them.”

Ms Simelane said police officers told her it was a head-on collision and the driver of the other vehicle also died.

The funeral service for the father and sons will be held at the eMbalenhle Seventh Adventist from 7am on Sunday, 12 March.

Details about the memorial service will be communicated on social media.
