SECUNDA – Capt Bettina Zondo, spokesman of Secunda Police Station, said a case of murder has been opened after the body of a man was found on 4 October between Secunda and Evander.
Capt Zondo said: “It is clear that the deceased did not die from natural causes.
“Police are investigating the death.”

Police and Emergency Services confirm that the body of a man in his mid-fifties was found in a field next to the road between Evander and Secunda earlier this morning.
According to the spokesperson for ER24 Ambulance Services, paramedics were called to the scene when a member of the community walking with his dogs saw a man lying on his back in the veld.
The man sustained numerous injuries as well as a severe head wound.
The man was declared dead on the scene.
The local authorities are investigating the matter.
