Sasol hands over boardroom to SAPS

The boardroom facility will enable the police station to be conducive for conducting effective meetings.

KINROSS – Sasol handed over a boardroom to Kinross Police so that they can have a proper and conducive environment in which to hold meetings.

The boardroom was handed over on Thursday, 21 April.

Maj Nape Matlala represented Brig Thabo Mphuti, Cluster Station Commander, who could not make it for the handover.

He said Sasol has been helping them for a long time, because they always used Sasol Club to host their meetings for free.

“This is not a donation for the SAPS only, it is for the whole community of Kinross,” said Maj Matlala who further mentioned that though he is currently working in Ogies, he is still a community member of Kinross and will always be available should his assistance be needed.

Ms Mashudu Ndou, senior manager: CRS and Ikusasa, was happy to see that some of the CPF members in Kinross are employees of Sasol.

She further said the donated boardroom will enable the police station to be conducive for conducting effective meetings, especially the Community Policing Forum, that will aid in the safety of the community members and assets.

“In closing, I would like to quote Barbara Boxer who once said: ‘Law enforcement officers are never off duty’.

“They are dedicated public servants who are sworn to protect public safety at all times and places if the peace is threatened.

“They need all the help that they can get.”

Ms Ndou said: “We are therefore privileged to have been of assistance and on behalf of ourselves and the community, we thank you for your continued selfless service.”

Ms Mmantwa Molepo encouraged the CPF to continue to dedicate their time to serve the community of Kinross and also urged the youth to come forward to join hands with the CPF to combat crime in their area.
