DA march to have specialised police units reinstalled againts drugs

The Democratic Alliance are demanding specialised units from the police.

SECUNDA – The community and youth are tired of the fact that drugs are freely being used and spread among the youth.

Because of the dealing in and using of drugs, crime related to the selling and distributing of drugs is becoming worse.

The Democratic Alliance Mpumalanga Youth chairman, Mr Muso Kubheka, led a march calling for the return of specialised police units to deal with drug-related crimes in Mpumalanga on Tuesday, 24 November.

“Drug abuse will continue to have a negative impact on young people should the police continue to ignore our repeated calls to establish specialised police units,” said Mr Kubheka.

“There are also those who will make sure that drug dealers face the law.

“Today we united and came in numbers to voice our demands to police officers.”

Lt Mbokane said the police accepted the petition and will attend to the demands that have been made as soon as they can.
