Bronkies police announce programme for Child Protection Week

They want to reach little ones in creches and primary schools.

The Bronkhorstspruit police, Mali Martin and other stakeholders will roll out the child protection programme from May 28 to June 5.

According to Constable Munyadziwa Cathrine Ramovha, the Social Crime Prevention and communication officer at the Bronkhorstspruit SAPS, the programme will target creches around Sector One, which includes Riamarpark, Erasmus and Cultura Park, to address issues such as human trafficking and child safety.

The awareness campaign at primary schools will target Grades R to Three learners and discuss abuse, sexual offences, child safety, children’s rights, bullying and child labour.

The programme will start on May 29 at 10:00 at Vezulwazi Primary School, followed on May 30 at 10:00 at Rethabiseng Primary School.

Mkhambi Primary School will host the programme on June 2 at 10:00, and wrapping up will be Bronkhorstspruit Primary School at 10:00 on June 5.
