Secunda Round Table 231 to host golf day in aid of Juan

Secunda Round Table 231 will host a golf day at Walker Park Golf Club on May 20 to raise much-needed funds for Juan Venter (two).

At 10 months of age, the toddler was diagnosed with mucopolysaccharidosis type one (MPS1).

Juan had a bone marrow transplant on March 30 at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre.

Although he is on medical aid, which approved his transplant, the oncologist told his parents there would be shortfalls.


Secunda Round Table 231 will host a golf day in aid of Juan Venter, who suffers from Mucopolysaccharidosis type one (MPS1).

The estimated cost of Juan’s bone marrow transplant is R1.7m. The money raised from the golf day will go to Juan’s medical shortfalls.

The round of golf will be a four-ball scramble drive.

Loads of prizes are up for grabs for the nearest to the pin, hole betting, longest drive and more.

The cost per hole is R4 500 and includes four balls, two golf carts and branding.
