Seventh-day Adventist community in Secunda cleans up green strip

Members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church clean up the green strip in Secunda.

Members of the Seventh-day Adventist Church took to the green strip by OK Food and Total Pitstop garage, along Helen Joseph Drive, as part of an outreach programme on March 12.

Both young and old got their hands dirty to rid of the rubbish strewn all over the place.

The church funded the community T-shirts, refuse bags and refreshments. A member provided a grass cutter and fuel costs that go along with it.

More clean-up projects have been diarised for this year. Locations of clean-ups are randomly chosen by members.

The church is active with community outreach programmes of which one is a weekly soup kitchen.

Planned projects for this year will also focus on local children’s homes and places of safety for youth. Anyone who wants to get involved may contact Anton Botha on 074 885 9696.
