Bronkhorstspruit Police invite community to join the CPF

“The role of the CPF is to make the needs of the community known to the police and to help the police meet those needs which will then promote trust, accountability, transparency and effectiveness in trying to eliminate crime.”

The station commander of Bronkhorstspruit Police, Colonel Maqhawe Simon Dhadhla, invites the community of Bronkhorstspruit and surrounding areas to join the Community Policing Forum (CPF).

The purpose of the meetings is to revive the CPF sub-sector in the Bronkhorstspruit policing precinct.

“The role of the CPF is to make the needs of the community known to the police and to help the police meet those needs which will then promote trust, accountability, transparency and effectiveness in trying to eliminate crime,” said Dhadhla.

According to Dhadhla, sector policing is part of the CPF and each sector is a sub-forum of the CPF body.

The CPF’s main body is made up of the four sectors, a chairperson, deputy chairperson and executive committee of community members as well as the Bronkhorstspruit Police Station commander, Dhadhla, the visible policing commander Lieutenant-Colonel Mlaba and sector co-ordinator, Captain Sipho Zulu.

The police invite residents and the various crime forums who are not affiliated to join the sector policing partners against crime.

“We want to review community interest and get more buy-in from the locals in the different sectors,” Dhadhla also said.

“It has come to our attention that many crime-related forums are operating in the various sectors which are not affiliated to the police sector forums or ultimately involved in CPFs.”

Cultura Park (Cupra) will hold their meeting on Sunday, October 16 at 14:00 and the venue is to be confirmed.

Revival meetings will take place on Monday, October 17 for Zithobeni Heights at 15:00 in the open field.

The meeting for Zithobeni Ext 1 and 4 will be on Tuesday, October 18 at 18:00 in the Zithobeni Community Hall.
