Residents of Brendan Village near Evander protest

Residents of Brendan Village near Evander want the Evander Gold Mine to switch on their electricity today, September 28.

These residents said they have been without electricity since Monday, September 26.

They began to protest last night by burning tyres in the street. They also closed the village gates.

The police’s Tactical Response Team and Public Order Police are currently monitoring the situation.
