Their identities were confirmed on Thursday, 18 June.

Their remains were found in a bedroom on the second level of a two story flat that caught fire in Boston Street on 14 June.

A friend of Ms Dagnicourt, Mr Tyrone Bruwer (34),who was also in the flat at the time of the fire, was taken to hospital by ER24 and later transported to Milpark Hospital.

Capt Gerhard Elmes, spokesperson for the police, could not confirm the man’s identity nor could he comment as to thr extent of the man’s injuries.

Scaffolding had to be erected as the building was unstable in places due to the fire damage.

“As we are still awaiting a report from forensics we cannot say what the cause of the fire was.
