UPDATE: Bethal currently a red zone

BETHAL – Kleynhans street towards the Baanbreker gravel road is a red zone at the moment and must be avoided.

Protesters allegedly set a veld on fire in Kleynhans street as well.

According to an eyewitness, protesters are burning tyres and want to fight with the police.

BETHAL – According to eye witnesses and several emergency groups, thousands of protesters are making their way to court to picket.

Most shops are closed, some were open, but also quickly closed their doors.

Residents are urged to avoid going to town at all cost.

Although no reports of violence have been received, it does not seem as if the situation is peaceful either.

Police are monitoring the situation.
