Woman takes rap for alleged drug dealers in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court

SECUNDA – Ms Belinda Margaret Swart (49), pleaded guilty to drug possession charges in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court on Wednesday, 3 April.

She is currently in custody and will be sentenced on Monday, 6 May.

Ms Swart was arrested with Messrs Therandran Frank Naidoo (36) and Japhet Chiebuka Onuoha (Jeff) (32) on Sunday, 12 August last year while they were travelling in a white Toyota Fortuner on the road beween Secunda and Evander.

The police, the Hawks SANEB (South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau) Mpumalanga, Secunda Dog Unit and Crime Intelligence caught the trio with crystal meth to the value of R31 000.

The case against Messrs Naidoo and Onuoha were provisionally withdrawn, but Mr Naidoo appeared the very next day in another drug possession case from 2017 for which he was arrested in the Secunda CBD.

He then allegedly had dagga and crystal meth in his possession.

His case was postponed to 20 May.
