Woman arrested after opening fake housebreaking case in eMbalenhle

Upon investigation and during the questioning of the stepson, the police discovered that the woman was lying.

eMBALENHLE – A woman was arrested on Sunday, 17 February after she faked a housebreaking.

The woman opened a case at Secunda Police Station.

She claimed items such as a fridge, dvd player, clothes and groceries were stolen.

According to the police, the woman suspected her stepson.

During the questioning of the stepson, the police discovered that the woman was lying.

Const Bettina Zondo, police spokesman, said the suspect’s stepson confessed that he was working with his stepmother.

“He told the police that they took the items for safekeeping to the house of a Nigerian.

They then told the husband that the items were stolen and opened a false charge.”

The woman was arrested and charged with perjury.

She expected to appear in the Secunda Magistrate’s Court soon.
