Hoërskool Secunda was awarded the best achieved school at the Highveld Ridge West Circuit’s awards ceremony held at Graceland Casino on Friday, 16 February.
Schools and learners were awarded for their hard work and academic achievements.
Hoërskool Oosterland received an award for the most improved school in the region.
Several teachers from Hoërskool Secunda received awards for the results of their learners.
Lane Coetzer from Hoërskool Secunda received an award for the best learner in the circuit.
The best Grade 3 learners in mathematics were Ruben Meister, Jordan Jacobs and Zante Venter, all three from Laerskool Secunda.
The best Grade 6 learners in mathematics were Riandri Lourens from Laerskool Kruinpark, Anina Slabbert from Laerskool Secunda and Liam Coulter from Laerskool Trichardt.
The top three Grade 9 learners in mathematics were Janco Viljoen from Hoërskool Oosterland and Henko Naudé and Frederik Visser from Hoërskool Secunda.
The top Grade 3 learners in English were Olwethu Lunga, Ikageng Mokoena, Langelihle Nhlapho and Ava Fourie from Laerskool Hoëveld.
For Grade 6, the top English learners were Zamangele Hlatshwayo and Mpilontle Goso from Laerskool Hoëveld and Siyabulela Nkombande from Laerskool Leandra.
The top Grade 9 learners in English were Leila Davies and Chido Chiwanja from Hoërskool Secunda and Mamello Moeketsi from Trichardtsfontein School.
The top Grade 3 learners in Enghlish second language were Natalie Maciel and Zanté Venter from Laerskool Secunda and Samkelisiwe Mngwevu and Gugu Ngwenya from SS Mshayisa School.
The top achievers in English second language in Grade 6 were Anzel Nieuwenhuis from Laerskool Kruinpark, Sbongile Ndulo and Buhle Nkosi from Mpumelelo School and Happy Tshoba from SS Mshayisa School.
The best Grade 9 learners in English second language were Wian du Toit, Sonel de la Rey and Stephan Oberholzer from Hoërskool Secunda and Janco Viljoen from Hoërskool Oosterland.
The best Grade 6 learners in natural science were Anzel Nieuwenhuis from Laerskool Kruinpark, Asahulma Gwele from Shapeve School and Uzair Kola from Laerskool Leandra.
The Grade 9 top achievers in natural science were Henko Naudé and Wian du Toit from Hoërskool Secunda and Janco Viljoen from Hoërskool Oosterland.
The Grade 9 top achievers in technology were from Hoërskool Oosterland. They are Janco Viljoen, Sunelie de Bruin and Renhard McFadden.
