POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Showmax:

Series: Troukoors

Troukoors follows three best friends: wedding planner Jessica (Ilse-Lee van Niekerk); her sister, Luca (Blyde Smit), a software developer; and her best friend, Abi (Bianca Flanders), a professional baker.

Movie: New Material

Written by Comics Choice Award winner Riaad Moosa and Craig Freimond (Gums & Noses), who also directs, New Material catches up with stand-up comic Cassim almost ten years on, as he tries to figure out family, belonging and taking his comedy from Fordsburg to the world – or at least on a cross-country road trip.

For the kids: The Boss Baby

A suit-wearing, briefcase-carrying baby – with an attitude that skriks for niks – pairs up with his 7-year old brother to stop a fiendish plot by the CEO of Puppy Co. in this Oscar-nominated film from DreamWorks.

Netflix:

Series: The Lincoln Lawyer

Side-lined after an accident, hotshot Los Angeles lawyer Mickey Haller restarts his career — and his trademark Lincoln — when he takes on a murder case.

Movie: Senior Year

A cheerleading stunt gone wrong landed her in a 20-year coma. Now she’s 37, newly awake and ready to live out her high school dream: becoming prom queen.

For the kids: PJ Masks

Three 6-year-old kids who live normal lives during the day become superheroes at night, fighting crime as a team known as PJ Masks.
