What2Watch: This week’s worth-the-watch

Here is Review’s rundown of what to stream on Showmax and Netflix this week.

POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Review has put together a list of shows you should stream on your favourite platform.

What to Watch this week on:

Showmax:

Series: The Pursuit of Love

Set in Europe between the two World Wars, BBC miniseries The Pursuit of Love follows the adventures and misadventures of the fearless Linda Radlett and her best friend and cousin, Fanny Logan, as they seek out the ideal husband.

Movie: Charm City Kings

Torn between the straight path and gang life, fourteen-year-old Mouse is desperate to join the Midnight Clique, an infamous group of dirt-bike riders who rule the streets of West Baltimore.

For the kids: Roald Dahl’s The Witches

Oscar winners Anne Hathaway and Octavia Spencer star in this delightfully dastardly reimagining of the Roald Dahl classic about a young mouse boy and his grandmother who go up against a coven of witches.
The 9th-biggest straight-to-streaming movie of 2020, it has a 4/5 star rating on Common Sense Media and earned Hathaway a 2021 Kids’ Choice Award nomination as the dreadful Grand High Witch.

Netflix:

Series: Cowboy Bebop

Long on style and perpetually short on cash, bounty hunters Spike, Jet and Faye trawl the solar system looking for jobs. But can they outrun Spike’s past?

Movie: tick, tick…BOOM!

On the brink of turning 30, a promising theatre composer navigates love, friendship and the pressure to create something great before time runs out.

For the kids: Extinct

Two cute, fuzzy creatures accidentally time-travel to the future… where they’re extinct! Can this doughnut-shaped duo save their species?
