POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Showmax:

Series: Resident Alien 

Based on the Dark Horse comic, Resident Alien is a murder mystery sci-fi dramedy that follows Harry, an alien played by Alan Tudyk (Rogue One) who crash lands on Earth and passes himself off as a human small-town doctor.

Movie: St Vincent

From Oscar nominee Theodore Melfi (Hidden Figures), comedy-drama St. Vincent stars Bill Murray as a cantankerous, misanthropic war vet and very unlikely mentor to his new neighbour, a scrawny kid whose parents have just divorced.

For the kids: The Croods: A New Age 

The #10 biggest movie of 2020, this “Croodaceous” adventure from DreamWorks Animation follows the prehistoric Croods pack as they try to keep up with their “more evolved” new neighbours, the Bettermans – emphasis on “better”…

Netflix:

Series: Squid Game

Hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children’s games. Inside, a tempting prize awaits — with deadly high stakes.

Movie: Spenser Confidential

Spenser, an ex-cop and ex-con, teams up with aspiring fighter Hawk to uncover a sinister conspiracy tied to the deaths of two Boston police officers.

For the kids: Jurassic World Camp Cretaceous 

Six teens invited to attend a state-of-the-art adventure camp on Isla Nublar must band together to survive when the dinosaurs break out of captivity.
