DA and residents clean Ivydale streets

The streets of Ivydale were cleaned last Saturday by residents led by DA ward 22 councillor, Mariette Pretorius.

She explained that the community took part in the clean-up campaign which was aimed at assisting the municipality.

“The municipality currently does not have the capacity to optimise service delivery. We wanted to be an example for Polokwane residents that it is essential to keep your own neighbourhood clean,” she explained.

The group swept away and collected the rubbish that littered in the streets. They also arranged for the municipality to cut the grass on the sidewalks. The campaign was hailed as a success. “As a leader of the community, I work with the people to show my commitment and solidarity and it is important to change people’s lives. I assist with service delivery to all citizens,” she said.

It was a busy time as the streets got a good clean.
