POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

Series: The Rookie Season 1 and 2

Nathan Fillion plays John Nolan, who is pursuing his dream to join the LAPD after a divorce. As their oldest rookie, he’s met with scepticism from those who see him as just a walking midlife crisis.

Poppie Nongena is a multi-award-winning adaptation of Elsa Joubert’s classic novel. It tells the moving true life story of the title character, a domestic worker desperately trying to keep her family together while navigating the day-to-day struggle against inhumane government pass laws in 1970s South Africa.

For the kids: Jungle Beat: The Movie

When a homesick alien crash-lands his spaceship near their jungle home, Munki, Trunk and their animal friends need to get him back to his ship and teach him about friendship and fun – before his father can take over Earth.  

Netflix:

Series: Outlander Season 4

After serving as a British Army nurse in World War II, Claire Randall is enjoying a second honeymoon in Scotland with husband Frank, an MI6 officer looking forward to a new career as an Oxford historian, until she is suddenly transported to 1743.

Movie: The Dig (2021)

Follow an archaeologist who goes about finding one of the biggest finds in the past century; Sutton Hoo.

For the kids: The Boss Baby: Back in Business

The Boss Baby brings his big brother Tim to the office to teach him the art of business in this animated series sprung from the hit film.
