What2Watch: This weeks’ worth-the-watch

Here is Review’s rundown of what to stream on Showmax and Netflix this week.

POLOKWANE – Streaming services such as Showmax and Netflix have made it possible to watch your favourite series or movies on demand, whenever you want to.

This however makes it even more difficult to decide between the magnitude of options available – that’s where we come in.

What to Watch this week on:

Showmax:

Series: Das Boot Season 1

During World War II, 40 young men take on their first mission. Personalities clash and they struggle with the cramped and claustrophobic conditions of life underwater.

Movie: Five Feet Apart (from 23 July)

Stella is a 17-year-old who spends most of her time in the hospital as a cystic fibrosis patient. When she meets Will, who has the same illness, her life of routines, boundaries and self-control get put to the test.

For the kids: Abominable

A wealthy man and a zoologist are after a yeti who wants to return to his family. It is up to three teenagers to help him.

Netflix:

Series: Down to Earth with Zac Efron Season 1.

Zac Efron is accompanied by wellness expert Darin Olien, as they travel around the world to find healthy and sustainable ways to live.

Movie: The Letter Reader

A South African short-film which tells the story of 12-year-old Siyabonga. He is sent to live with his grandmother while his parents sort out their marital problems. He struggles to adapt but reads letters that put a smile on people’s faces, until one day, when a letter with bad news is delivered.

For the kids: A Series of Unfortunate Events.

Binge on three seasons of the tragic tale of three orphans who want to get behind the reason for their parents’ mysterious death. Safe for children seven years and older.
