Your chance at FAME is here

The FAME academy will be an institute of excellence which will specialise in providing accredited, nationally recognised and relevant programmes that will develop a graduate to enter the industry either as a high-profiled employee or as an employer.

POLOKWANE –  A first of its kind in the northern region of South Africa, the Film, Arts, Music and Entertainment Awards (Fame) Academy will focus solely on the entertainment industry and aims to produce artistic entrepreneurs who will contribute to the gross domestic product of the country.

The announcement was made by the academy CEO, Matodzi Makananise, at the Miss FAME Academy SA launch at Kia Motors on Friday night.

The pageant, which looks to bring the youth together and empower them, was set up as a way of informing the public about the academy.

“The Fame Academy will be a community of creative people where everyone is committed to achieve excellence through hard work in the art industry,” Makananise said.

The academy will be an institute of excellence which will specialise in providing accredited, nationally recognised and relevant programmes that will develop a graduate to enter the industry either as a high-profiled employee or as an employer.

“All our programmes will have a practical focus, thereby giving students hands-on experience with equipment and production simulations. We want to produce graduates who will be highly sought-after in the industry.

“We want it to be apparent that we produce graduates with superior skills, knowledge and experience in actual industry practices. We are directly involved in the industry as we train by producing, directing and facilitating a variety of films, designs, music and other arts related projects.”

The Miss Fame Academy SA pageant will host auditions in all five districts of Limpopo, starting with the Waterberg district on Saturday, 7 March.

The winner of the pageant will receive a brand new car.

Owani Mafokate (FAME Academy SA ambassador) and Matodi Makananise (CEO FAME Academy SA) unveil the Kia car that will be won by Miss Fame Academy SA.
