Two burnt beyond recognition after their shack catches fire in Limpopo

The fire escalated and set another seven shacks alight, subsequently burning everything inside.

POLOKWANE – Two people have been burnt beyond recognition and the South African Police Service in Tzaneen are seeking assistance to identify the bodies. The police have also opened an inquest following their deaths.

According to a statement released by Col Ngoepe, they fire occurred on a farm within the George’s Valley area outside Tzaneen on 1 February. It is believed that the deceased were around the fire in their wooden shack at around 01:30 when their shack cough fire.

The fire escalated and set another seven shacks alight, subsequently burning everything inside.

The police were notified about the incident and discovered two bodies burnt beyond recognition.

The police are busy with investigations and the circumstances surrounding the incident are still unclear at this point.
