Varsity derby here to uproot local talent
The derby will enable students from different backgrounds to come together and share their stories, talent and life experiences
POLOKWANE – Registered students looking for a fun day out are encouraged to attend the Varsity Derby at the Jack Botes Hall on 29 February. The derby includes DJing, music, dance and modelling performances, and food stalls will be available. According to the Varsity Derby’s event manager, Sammy Dollar, the concept is to bridge the gap between institutions of higher learning.
“There is little interaction, especially on a socially organised level. Varsity Derby’s inter-campus platform will enable students from different backgrounds to come together and share their stories, talent and life experiences.” Musicians, dancers, radio and TV presenters, social media influencers, comedians, artists and gamers are welcome. “Apart from the experience gained, there will also be awards and prize money and we are appealing to companies to sponsor prizes too.”
Date: 29 February
Time: Rehearsals – 10:00; Main event – 15:00
Venue: Jack Botes Hall, Polokwane
