Get perfect ‘eyebrows on fleek’ with these DIY tips

Beautician, Seema Khalifa shares her eyebrow shaping tips

POLOKWANE – The perfect eyebrow shape not only defines your eyes but also frames your face. With our busy lifestyles we don’t always have time to visit a beauty salon for the professional touch, so local beautician Seema Khalifa, who specialises in eyebrow threading at her salon, shared home-shaping tips with readers.

Seema says shaping your brows at home can be tricky, but with these tips you can learn to shape your brows like a professional.

TIP 1:

Every woman should study the shape of their head before shaping or plucking-out, shaving or threading their eyebrows, she says.

She explains that when one has a diamond-shaped-face, you have a balanced shape, but angular, so to soften the angles, choose a curved or soft arch.

For a round face, you want to make your face look longer and less circular; eyebrows with a medium to high arch height and a hard or soft angled arch shape will help to lengthen your face, she advised.

TIP 2:

When you want to shape your eyebrows, be prepared with the right tools. “You need to have the right tools for the job, and while waxing and threading can be professionally done at a salon, the best option for eyebrow shaping at home are tweezers or shaving razors.

TIP 3:

After tweezing the eyebrows, ‘map’ the perfect shape with an eyeliner, either black or brown colour. Draw on the bottom and top, making sure that on top, you start drawing just slightly in the middle, to give it the natural look. And do the same on the other side.

Shape your eyeborws using a brown or black eye-liner, then seal it off with a slightly light concealer. Blend with a concealer brush and you have a perfectly looking eyebrows on ‘fleek.’

She adds that after drawing with eyeliner, you can take an eyebrow or mascara brush and start blending in the colours. “Once you’re done on both sides, take a concealer that’s just slightly lighter than your skin colour, and apply it under the eyebrows and blend it in with concealer, making sure you remain just below the eyeliner drawing,” she said.
