Limpopo PSL Corner: Another loss for City, Leopards fight back and a draw for Baroka

The Limpopo PSL Corner provides information, results and fixtures of the three Limpopo Absa Premiership teams.

LIMPOPO – Polokwane City have suffered their eighth loss of the 2019/20 Absa Premiership season. Rise and Shine faced Bloemfontein Celtic at home in their last outing and failed to bag the much-needed three points. Sepana Letsoalo of Celtic handed them a 1-0 win in the 82nd minute at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. City are still without a permanent coach and interim coach, Bernard Molekwa is currently in the hot seat. Reports suggest that former coach of Tanzanian club, Simba SC, Patrick Aussems might be in the running for the position but only time will tell.

City’s next match is at home against Maritzburg United, who currently have one more point than City as well as a game in hand.

Black Leopards climbed to ninth place on the log after they came from a goal down to win their match against Golden Arrows at the Thohoyandou Stadium. Arrows’ Knox Mutizwa put the visitors in front through a spot kick, six minutes before the break. Leopards fought back hard in the second half and goals from Lesedi Kapinga and Themba Ndlovu secured the three points for the hosts.

Their next game is against a struggling AmaZulu who are currently in second last place.

The other Limpopo team, Baroka FC played to a 0-0 draw at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium against Chippa United. Baroka’s last win came in the Limpopo-derby when they beat Polokwane City 1-0. Baroka are back at home for their next match where they will face the Buccaneers. Baroka are currently in 12th place while Orlando Pirates sit in eighth.
