Hulisani’s book warns youth of ‘blessers’

Hulisani Netshifhefhe has recently released her book, Zwe Nde Ndi Ite, which was in the making for years.

LIMPOPO – The 27-year-old from Tshifulanani said to have her book published, is a dream come true. “It has been a long process as it took roughly 10 years to get my book published. It was a road filled with obstacles, it was not so good financially,” Hulisani said.

She thanks God for giving her strength, to be patient when things were not looking good. “I gave my project to God and believed that in his perfect time, He will make it happen. Isaiah 60:22 taught us that at the right time, the Lord will make it happen. I have learnt that some things take time to manifest for your own good, so that you can spend your time mediating to be close to the God.”

She said that the book aims to teach young people about the dangers of associating themselves with ‘blessers’. “These days, young people associate themselves with ‘blessers’ and forget about their future. They use their families’ situations as a scapegoat for their behaviours. The story revolves around the protagonist, Tshianeo, who is a rebel child and stubborn and likes to backchat when someone tries to help her and she associates herself with ‘blessers’,” she said.

Hulisani wrote the book in Tshivenda and hopes to reach mass readers, mainly youths. “Writing in my home language was another way of expressing myself. I would like the book to be read in schools,” she said.

Her message to young people is to be patient. “Patience is a virtue. You must never give up on life. It took me 10 years but with God, passion, faith and consistency, I managed to turn my dream into a reality. No matter how long it takes, in the end you will achieve your dreams,” she said.

The 82-page book was published by Lesedi Publishers.
