Author pens ‘spiritual awakening’

Ntsakisi Rikhotso says her book, Ready Your Weapons is a spiritual awakening, will help to evaluate the position of one's spiritual life.

LIMPOPO – According to the author Ntsakisi Rikhotso, many Christians have become so comfortable forgetting that they are in a race, and today’s church is so empty of the word of God and prayer’s filled with slay queens and kings, “it’s all about showing off”.

Rikhotso, who recently released her book, Ready Your Weapons, said Christianity has been misrepresented for so long and it has now become a joke to the world.

“It’s about time we as the body of Christ rise up to uphold the standards of the Kingdom we claim to belong or represent. So much has gone wrong, when we look at the modern day church, we have forsaken our first love and we don’t seem to understand who He is we call God,” Rikhotso said.

The 28-year-old said Ready Your Weapons is a spiritual awakening which will help to evaluate the position of one’s spiritual life.

“At the same time, it outlines the weapons of warfare while addressing core and sensitive matters such as ‘why do we pray so much but see few if no results at all’ and ‘what causes the chaos we see in churches of today’,” she said.

She describes herself as a woman whose heart is completely sold to Christ.

“Being a church girl growing up, knowing who ‘this God’ is that I had been introduced to, became a very personal matter to me. I would devote my time to study the Bible and praying over what I studied. That became my lifestyle to a point whereby when I’m be busy with my house chores, I would stop and start preaching to myself as though I am surrounded by people. And at times I would take my journal and start taking notes of what the Holy Spirit was depositing into my heart at that point in time,” she said.

Through this book, Rikhotso said the reader will get to weigh his current state of relationship with God, how to rebuild a broken relationship with God and to know how the kingdom of darkness blocks a person from experiencing a deep fruitful relationship with God.
