Modipadi hopes to inspire women to be the best version of themselves

Modipadi Mokwena, a young model from Mahlabeng in Ga-Sekhukhune is a finalist in the 2019 Empress South Africa.

LIMPOPO – She will go head-to-head with other finalists on 16 December at the Sun Coast Casino’s Barnyard Theatre for the finale.

The 25-year-old model describes herself as an authentic young lady that is full of joy and  loves to give back to others. Mokwena first started modelling in 2017 and in her first pageant, the Justice Pageants 2017, she was given the second runner-up title. Since then she has competed in several pageants and has several titles behind her name.

She tells Review that pageants are a journey of self discovery. “When walking the catwalk you identify your personal strengths and weaknesses. Modelling enhances one’s self esteem, confidence and self acceptance. Modelling is a life changing contest and it is something everyone should experience,” she advises.

She gives aspiring models some advise regarding the pageant world. “Never give up who you are just to fit in. Go out there, be authentic and be great. People may try to change you, make you feel faulty, but don’t fall for it, you are perfect as you are,” Modipadi advised.
