Line-up for the 8th Phalaphala FM Royal Gospel and Heritage Festival announced

LIMPOPO – News Café in Thohoyandou buzzed with people on Friday, when the line-up for the eighth Phalaphala FM Royal Gospel and Heritage Festival was announced.

The event is being labelled as one of the must-go-to festivals to attend this year. The sunny and majestic Venda will host music lovers at the festival, where everyone will get the chance to rub shoulders with some of their favourite artist on 13 and 14 September. The festival keeps growing and continues to attract and re-invent itself to accommodate people from all walks of life.

Shandukani Nesengani, organiser, said the main idea is to put local artists on the world map. “We invite the country to come and see what we have to offer. From our beautiful weather, landscape and rich culture, the Phalaphala FM Royal Gospel and Heritage Festival is there for the taking,” said Nesengani.

The third edition of the Royal Gospel Show will make a return to the Royal Gardens this year, with the main festival being showcased the next day.

“Last year we hosted the gospel show at Charis Missionery Church, Makwarela and this year we decided to take it back to Royal Gardens Nandoni Dam as the event’s attendance has grown. The people have spoken and we will cater for them. We encourage everyone to come and enjoy our world-class event,” he said.

This year’s Royal Gospel Show will be headline by Dr Tumi, Dr Rebecca Malope, Khaya Mthethwa, Ntokozo Mbambo, Takie Ndou, Worship House, Tumi B, Lufuno Dagada, Rofhiwa Manyaga, Palesa Ravele, Phuluso Thenga and a surprise act. The Heritage Festival will feature music heavy weights such as Sho Madjozi, AKA, Vusi Nova, Ringo, Zama Jobe, Prince Kaybee, Master KG, Joe Shirimani, King Monada, DJ Ganyani, Maphorisa, Boity, DJ Sumbody, Duma Ntando, Lerato Kganyago, Sjava, Malwela, Kabza De Small, Tsitso, Kwish SA, Zero 12 Finest, Benny Mayengani and Dr Colbert Mukwevho.
