Kutullo hopes to (E)mpress and win the title

Kutullo Kgomo says her dream and passion for modelling started at a tender age.

MOKOPANE –  She hails from Mahwelereng in Mokopane, but currently resides in Atteridgeville, Pretoria and is a point sales student at Get On College as well as an aspiring model.

Kutullo is a Miss Empress South Africa, an online beauty with brains and purpose pageant, semifinalist. She says she was inspired by the reigning Miss Empress South Africa, who gave her the confidence to be fearless, beautiful and proud of who she is.

She said some of the challenges one faces as an up-and-coming model, is a lack of finances or accessing sponsors and well connected employment agents, who can market your brand on a professional level.

“Being a model means one should look amazing. We need to have access to designers clothes and trending fashion styles. A lack of resources, specifically money, limits one to get noticed,” she explained.

Kutullo said her journey has not as easy as it may look, but she managed to pull through and make it to the semi-finals of the pageant. “It was tough but I fought and stood firm to reach the semi-finals,” she added.

She says that apart from acquiring accolades on a national level, she wants to be an inspiration to young models, who have to make the most out of the little they have.

“Helping others, especially the underprivileged, and winning the Empress South Africa pageant will mean a lot to me. It will change my life in a great way. I’ll be able to improve my life and the life of others and become a role model to young people,” she explained.
