The National Council of African Women (NCAW) in Limpopo will bestow long serving members with badges and pins for their dedication and commitment to the organisation at their provincial conference to be held at a venue in Polo­kwane from tomorrow (Friday) until Sunday.
The conference will be hosted under the theme: “Education is the key to unlocking human potential”.
Outlining the programme of the events acting Provincial Public Relations Officer of NCAW in Limpopo, Kentse Makgae said during the badging ceremony new members who were on probation for a year will also receive pins. “The conference will give branches from Polokwane, Thabamoopo, Lebowakgomo, Mabel Chue, Seshego, Moletjie, Molepo, Turfloop, Hoedspruit and Mahwelereng an opportunity to give reports on the activities they have done in the past twelve months. They will be able to interact and learn from each other and also network,” she said.
“We have planned a memorial service in remembrance of our late members. We will also be having commissions which will discuss the status of Early Childhood Development, Science and Technology, Skills Development and Adult Basic Education and Training in the province. We will also be having members of the Wayfere organisation which teaches young woman about moral regeneration. Members of the organisation regularly visit schools in Mankweng, Waterberg, Moletjie and Seshego and they teach learners about good morals, respect, womanhood and responsibility. We are expecting more than 100 delegates. We are looking forward to an exciting and informative conference and we are inviting women from all walks of life to join us,” Makgae said.
Some of the guests expected at the event are Masenyini Manganyi, Head of Department of Social Work an the University of Limpopo and MEC for Education Polly Boshielo. “We are also expecting a delegation from Ghana and officials from the South African Council for Natural Scientific Professions at the conference,” Makgae concluded.
