Summer bodies are made in winter, says health and wellness coach Kamogelo

We all know it is not easy staying on a diet during winter, this is why we are bringing you a quick fix in getting your winter body summer ready.

POLOKWANE –  Whether you have fallen off on the diet wagon, or is simply looking for new ways on how to curb belly fat. Kamogelo Teffo, a health and wellness coach has a few food items that are a sure to help in your journey. She says first of all the food portions you eat are very vital, make sure that you do not eat too much and for that a glass of water is prescribed before and after your meals. Water is a very essential part of every diet, it is important to always keep your body hydrated, make sure you drink enough water, with or without the diet.

Citrus fruits are well known for helping with belly fat to make sure you stock up on those lemons, the potassium in citrus helps fight off the bloating, and will also help keeping you hydrated. Leafy greens are next, that help with tightening up the body in all the right places. Try to ensure that meals include at least one leafy green like spinach, lettuce and cabbage.

She says contrary to popular belief fat-free foods are not healthier as they contain a lot of preservatives that are bad for your stomach and cause excess fat.

Alcohol is also a very big No. “Alcohol carries a lot of empty calories with it, and drinking a lot of it can also slow down your body’s fat-burning processes.” They don’t call it a beer-belly for nothing.
