Vhatendi is beauty with the brains
Vhatendi Mutshenawamadi is a young woman whose dreams kept her figuratively awake and thinking about establishing herself as a fully-actualised social being in the society.
LIMPOPO – The 23-year-old has thus far managed to achieve satisfactory milestones as an emerging model. Her recent achievement is being selected as the Limpopo representative for the Empress South Africa 2020 pageant.
“I am passionate about modelling and I believe that being in a contest like Empress South Africa 2020 is a reward in itself. This is a national contest which stresses the phenomena of beauty with brains,” she said.
She had all along wanted to stretch out her wings to fly like an eagle since she aspired to live in the reality of her dreams. However, that had to begin with her love for other human beings.
“Being in this contest makes me live in the reality of my dreams, because I had engaged in various charity works. Rendering a selfless service and being led by the spirit of Ubuntu is part of what I have become, because in every charity work I engage myself in, I feel fulfilled. I now know to socialise with children living with disabilities with love and care because is what completes a woman.”
A resident of Itsani village near Thohoyandou, Vhatendi defines herself as beautiful, gorgeous, adorable, admirable, accountable, fearless and victorious girl. Vhatendi is currently completing her bachelor of arts in language practice’s honours degree at the University of Venda.
She urged youths to focus on their dreams and not on the difficulties which they might face as part of growing up.
“Life was not easy as I was growing up, because being raised by a single unemployed parent in an extended family is not easy. Despite my unfavourable background, I never limited myself from wanting the best in life and aspiring to be successful.”
